here are the normal
things going on as we
come into the New Year,
but we have had a couple of
folks depart as well. First,
Steve Shiver. That's the guy
that many of you saw on the
Norton Newsgroup as 'Hobot'.
He had a rather unique writing
style that I had a bit of trouble
deciphering. I met him at a
couple
of
rallies,
very
interesting guy.
Another death of note is Les
Emery, of Fair Spares fame.
Les was a BMOC of the Norton
World, being a bigwig with the
Norton Owners Club over in
England.
He was their
membership
secretary
for
awhile, then got into the spares
scheme as they called it, which
led him into establishing Fair
Spares providing Norton parts
of all kinds to the faithful. I had corresponded with him a
number of times over the years, but only met him once on a
trip to England back in 1988.
Godspeed, guys.
As many of you have noticed, the last couple of Norton
News have come through the mail mangled or not at all.
Then for the number 200 - which got to me on time - big blank

There are a number of bene昀椀ts. Since we would skip printing
and mailing, it would get to you sooner. And it would be
cheaper, since we would, well, skip printing and mailing. Of
course, there are those who would prefer the paper copies. I
have to admit, I'm a bit old school, and like having the paper
in front of me. What to you think? I very much welcome your
thoughts on this.
Another issue is where to have the 2027 Rally. To my
knowledge, there has been no one or club to propose putting
Number 201
